About Us

Our story starts back in 1992, when we started our first pure vegetarian restaurant in the heart of South London.

Kanchan’s Vegetarian Restaurant soon became the pinnacle of authentic Indian food, with bustling flavours tingling your taste buds!

Diwali, the biggest festival in the Hindu calendar, was always a busy but buzzing time at the restaurant. We would spend 3 consecutive days to the build-up of Diwali making varieties of mithaai, with orders being booked before the mithaai had set! From the vast selection of mithaai we had to offer, Barfi become a top favourite and attracted people far and wide across London just for their favourite flavour!

Our first flavour started off as Kalakand – if you’ve never tried before, think of it a combination of fudge and cake, little creamy milk pieces that simply melt in your mouth.

 

Who knew this would spark the beginning of a new world when it came to experimenting with flavours, from traditional flavours such as kesar pista to an old classic favourite Tutti Frutti!

As time went on, we began combining the tastes of 2 cultures – a true east meets west story with flavours such as black forest gateux and bubblegum!
